Carrots & Rice
1 C sliced carrots
4 1/2 C water
2 tsp. salt
2 C long-grain white rice
1/4 C sugar
1/2 C half-and-half
1/4 C butter
1 multi-purpose canine vitamin, ground fine
In a large pan, bring water and salt to a boil. Add carrots to the water and salt, and bring to a boil again. Reduce heat to medium and boil gently for about ten minutes. Return heat to high, then stir in rice. Reduce heat to simmer; cover. Steam for about twenty minutes, or until rice is tender. Then stir sugar, crushed vitamin, half-and-half, and butter into the rice mixture. Stir in extra milk if necessary. Remove from heat, and allow to cool before serving.
Recommended: Add multi-purpose canine vitamins in the preparation of this dish to provide optimum nutrition for your dog (s). Use a mortar and pestle to crush the vitamins into a fine powder, and then mix well with the other ingredients.
