Deutscher Gemusesalat
4 C cabbage, finely shredded
1/2 green bell pepper, minced
1/2 C onion, chopped fine
1/4 C carrots, grated
10 black olives, sliced
1 1/2 TBS sugar
1 1/2 TBS hot water
2 TBS white vinegar
1/4 tsp. celery seeds
1/2 tsp. salt
Pepper to taste
1/4 C olive oil
Place cabbage, pepper, onion, carrots and olives in large bowl, and mix gently. In small bowl, stir sugar into hot water until dissolved. Stir in vinegar, celery seeds, salt and pepper. Pour dressing over cabbage mixture; drizzle with olive oil. Toss, cover and refrigerate for two hours or more. Serve chilled (toss again before serving).
