Egg-in-the-Hole

Butter one side of each piece of bread, and cut a small circle in the middle of each slice. Place in a heated frying pan, buttered-side down, and butter the other side. Crack open an egg, and place in the hole in the bread; salt and pepper to taste. After the first side of bread is browned, flip over gently to cook the other side. Depending on how you prefer your eggs, you can cook them dippy or hard.
